This A Christmas Celtic Sojourn compilation is an example of the work that WGBH engages in on behalf of the arts. From the first concert in December 2003 at the Somerville Theatre in Davis Square, Somerville, Mass., to the sold-out performances in 2005 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in downtown Boston, this live presentation has received the highest levels of audio attention from WGBH’s engineers. The result is in evidence on this disc: selections from all three A Christmas Celtic Sojourn concerts, which demonstrate not just the high level of musicianship of the artists onstage, but their warmth, humor, intimacy, and passion for the pieces they perform.
