Elderly Mrs. Longden is never short of an eccentric opinion, whether it's choosing her own Mother's Day card or the best way to wash a cat. After her death, her son Deric (Pete Postlethwaite, In the Name of the Father) reflects on her quirky ways, like when she abruptly announced she was selling her house and proceeded to disclose all its flaws and problems to the potential buyers. The buyers, however, loved it; the house showing turned into a party and she sold the house! Even after suffering a series of strokes and becoming literally lost for words, she remained her bold and unique self up until the very end. The many lives she touched left a lasting impression on many, but none as much as Deric.
