Rachel Runs for Office: Rachel is very keen to be her school's representative to the new City Hall Youth Council. She's interested in the issues and is ready to work hard. But Billy's breakdancing and Pete's campaign management have put Billy well in the lead. Then Rachel finds out something about Billy that could win her the election. She decides not to use it, until the campaign begins to turn nasty. After all, she knows she' s really the better candidate, and if the others aren't going to play fair, why should she? Uniquely combining the Kids of Degrassi Street's usual realistic style with Connie's video coverage of the campaign, Rachel Runs for Office is a fascinating lesson for kids on how elections are won and lost.

Griff Makes a Date: No one really likes Griff—after all, he used to be a Pirate—but it doesn't matter much to him, until he meets Lisa, just back from Vancouver. Lisa's worried about her new baby brother, Nicholas, who she has just learned is mentally handicapped. But she's not too worried to notice Griff. Casey offers Lisa lots of advice on romance, and it looks like Griff might have found a friend at last. Lisa keeps quiet about Nicholas; she loves him just as much, but she' s not sure other people will be so understanding. Her fears are justified when Griff call the mentally handicapped crossing guard a "retard". Lisa has to choose between her loyalty to her baby brother and her new friend, and Griff learns something about labels and how they can hurt.
