Connie Makes a Catch: Connie has her eye on Candy, the popular caption of the baseball team, but he doesn't even know she exists. She'd do anything to catch his eye, and everyone has advice to offer, but being a "lady" is tough for a tomboy like Connie who'd rather be playing baseball. Meanwhile, Lisa has the opposite problem when Griff asks her to a movie—a real date! Her parents say absolutely not and Lisa's not the type to go against her parents. But how could they possibly find out? While Lisa watches in horror as her parents walk into the movie theater, Connie, down at the baseball park, is stuck way out in left field. Suddenly a ball is headed straight for her. If she misses, her team will lose. But if she catches it, it will be Candy who's out. She knows she can catch it—but maybe it would be better if she starts to act like a lady. Disguises, subterfuge and out and out comedy bring home a gently lesson about what happens when you try to be something you're not.

Karen Keeps Her Word: Money is on everyone's mind as the yearbook is in desperate financial straits. But Karen's not remotely interested in the yearbook's problems, or in the class voting itself a nuclear-free zone. She's found a pair of roller skates that are destined for her feet—all she needs now is the money to buy them. Karen's problems seem to be solved when Pete takes her on as a partner in his window- washing business. And Casey's a heroine when she sells two whole pages of advertising in the yearbook. What Casey doesn't know yet is that the company she sold the ad space to produces electrical systems for nuclear missiles. And Karen doesn't realize that her commitment to Pete goes beyond money. Both girls have to face their own consciences in a deceptively funny film that tackles the kinds of problems that people think only grownups have to face.
